How to order a Aadhaar PVC card

Aadhaar cardholders can request for "Aadhaar PVC Card" using the UIDAI Official Website or the Resident Portal. 

Here are simple steps to follow:

Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/

Step 2: Click on "Order Aadhaar PVC Card"

Step 3: Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar Number (UID) or 28 digits Enrollment ID.

Please keep in mind that you won't be able to request a card while your EID is still being processed. Fill in the security code. Enter the OTP that was sent to your registered mobile phone.
Step 4: Click on the check box against "Terms and Conditions". (Note: Click on hyper link to see details).
Step 5: Click on "Submit" Button to complete OTP verification.
Note that preview of the Aadhaar is only available for authenticated section.

Step 6: Click on "Make payment".
You will be re-directed to Payment Gateway page with payment options as Credit/Debit Card, Net banking and UPI.
Step 7: Make payment choosing the suitable option.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has strongly discouraged the use of PVC Aadhaar copies from the open market due to the lack of security safeguards. In a tweet on its official Twitter account, the UIDAI stated: We strongly discourage the use of as they do not carry any security features. 

You may order Aadhaar PVC Card by paying Rs 50/-(inclusive of GST & Speed post charges). PVC card/Plastic or Aadhaar smart card prints from the open market are NOT Valid.

Following successful payment, a receipt with digital signature will be generated, which may be retrieved in PDF format by residents.
The Service Request Number will be sent to residents by SMS as well. On Check Aadhaar Card Status, residents may check the status of their SRNs until their Aadhaar cards are delivered. Once dispatched from DoP, SMS with the AWB number will also be delivered.

How to order Aadhaar PVC card using non-registered mobile number
Step 1: Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on "Order Aadhaar PVC Card" Service. Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar Number (UID) or 28 digits Enrollment ID.
Step 3: Enter the security code Click on check box "If you do not have a registered mobile number, please check in the box". Please enter Non-Registered / Alternate Mobile Number.
Step 4: Click on "Send OTP" Click on the check box against "Terms and Conditions".
Step 5: Click on "Submit" Button to complete OTP verification. No preview of the Aadhaar details will be available. Click on "Make payment".
Step 6: After successful payment, the receipt will get generated having a digital signature which can be downloaded by a resident in PDF format.

How to check status of Aadhaar PVC card
The status of the Aadhaar PVC card can be tracked under the 'My Aadhaar' option on www.uidai.gov.in, you may check the status of your Aadhaar PVC card. Click 'Check Aadhaar PVC card status' under the 'My Aadhaar' option. You will need to enter your 28-digit SRN, 12-digit Aadhaar number, and captcha code on the new screen. After clicking 'Check Status,' the current status will be displayed.

How long will it take to receive Aadhaar PVC card
As per UIDAI FAQ, within 5 working days of receiving an order for an Aadhaar PVC Card from a resident, UIDAI delivers the printed Aadhaar Card to the Department of Population. Residents' Aadhaar PVC Cards are distributed through India Post's SPEED POST service, in accordance with Department of Posts delivery rules, to their registered address in the Aadhaar database.

Charges for Aadhaar PVC Card
It may be acquired online using Aadhaar number, Virtual ID, or Enrolment ID for a minimal fee of Rs 50 at uidai.gov.in or resident.uidai.gov.in.

UIDAI strongly discourage the use of PVC Aadhaar copies from the open market as they do not carry any security features.
