How To Remove McAfee Products From A PC Running Windows

Summary

This article describes how to remove or uninstall a McAfee Consumer product from a PC running Windows using the standard Windows removal steps and the McAfee MCPR Tool

1. Download the MCPR tool.
2. Double-click MCPR.exe.
3. If you see a security warning:
   
   Click Yes, Continue, or Run (depending on your version of Windows):
   
   
4. At the McAfee Software Removal screen:
   1. Click Next. 
   2. Click Agree to accept the End User License Agreement (EULA).
       
5. At the Security Validation screen:
   1. Type the characters exactly as shown on your screen. Validation is case-sensitive.
   2. Click Next. This step prevents the accidental use of MCPR.
      
      
       
6. When the process is complete, you see one of the following messages. Click the one that you see.

Removal Complete

If you see this message, the MCPR tool has completed successfully.

1. Restart your PC to complete the removal process.

IMPORTANT: When your PC restarts, it will not be protected from viruses and malware. Ensure that you reinstall your security software as soon as possible to remain protected.
