Step1 : Login to Desktop/ laptop with user having administrative privileges

Step2: Select This PC  (if Windows 10) or Computer (if Windows7*)  and right click and select Properties 

Step3 : Select  Advanced system settings-

Step4 : Here select Computer name (tab) and click on Change button

Setp5: Change the desktop name in the prescribed format i.e. WEG27922DT001 (Weg code followed DT for desktop LT for laptop then 3 digit number). Now reboot the system. 

Step6: After the system is rebooted, again follow step2 to step5 and the change “member of” from Workgroup to Domian and type indiapost.gov.in and click OK. Now a popup window will open, here provide  login id as : doplocadmin  Password : Password@123 Click on ok/submit after which you will receive a message as Welcome to India Post domain. Here again press Ok, restart the system.

Note :

Windows7 PCs should be upgraded to Windows10 as support for Windows 7 has ended.
